Having seen the exhibition at the RA a few years ago of Charlotte Solomon’s work it was nice to see them again in the flesh. Her vision and the depth and breadth of imaginative process are so engaging; the pathos of the work and the intimate, raw and intense sense of exposure are so vibrant and alive, though deeply disturbing. The balance of this work with Anna Boghuanian’s worked well as Boghihuian’s process of photo-montage and intensive drawing have a certain equivalence. with Solomon’s. Not so sure what the the pseudo Nazi peep holes added to the install but the balance between the work was certainly refined.
